In light of the coronavirus pandemic, Guelph is stepping up. Many people have offered to help each other get through this coronavirus. This website brings together all such community-driven people-powered initiatives in one place. You’ll find organizations to donate to, volunteers offering help, listings of businesses that are open, places to find free meals and so on. Please consider throwing your shoulder to the yoke and helping out wherever possible – but also make sure you are following recommendations from public health experts on social distancing. Please share this website widely.
How and where to obtain FREE FOOD during COVID-19 closures
With the COVID-19 closures, some of our Emergency Food Services are CLOSED, but many are trying their best to stay OPEN or offer LIMITED SERVICES by adapting their procedures. This list might not be up-to-date as changes are occurring very rapidly, but it is a good starting point for community members who urgently need access to free food. (Thanks to Terrie Jarvis from Food4Kids Guelph for compiling this resource)
If you do not need a free meal but are in a position to help, please considering donating directly to the charities. A list of their immediate needs are available here.
